WATCH: Hanson Performed ‘MMMBop’ On Sunrise This Morn & It Was MMM-Not Great
Hanson continue to remind everyone they exist, performing their biggest hit ‘MMMBop’ on Sunrise this morn.
The three boys have already grabbed headlines after throwing (petty and unnecessary) shade at Justin Bieber. They are touring Oz rn, to celebrate 20 years since the release of their debut album; impressively after two decades Hanson can still draw in a massive crowd.
For those that grew up in the late 90’s, alongside the Spice Girls, Hanson WAS the biggest thing ever. Like many of my friends, I owned a ‘Middle of Nowhere’ tour VHS , my sister and I would watch on repeat until we had memorised every word that our idols Isaac, Taylor and Zac said.
These three cute long-haired boys from Tulsa, Oklahoma were the definition of teen heart-throbs, long before One Direction had cast its spell on the world of pop music.
Hanson still hold a very special position in my childhood years, but tbh this performance of ‘MMMBop’ by a much older, adult Hanson is… not great. It’s not terrible but is lacking the innocent enthusiasm that the twenty years since its release have slowly withered away. Plus, the boys singing pipes just aren’t what they used to be. That’s puberty for you, folks.
