After a long break, John Oliver has made his glorious return to ‘Last Week Tonight‘ and he’s not avoiding any tiny handed orange elephants in the room.
The HBO series, which was off-air during Donald Trump’s inauguration, didn’t hesitate in jumping straight into the new president of the United States. The show kicked off with a segment dedicated to debunking the ‘pathological liar’s’ err.. alternative facts.
Going through Trump’s “well-documented 40-year history of bullshit,” Oliver examined the blatant lies in the POTUS’s speeches, and the influence cable advertisements have on his views. “His tweets frequently echo things that just aired on TV,” Oliver said.
“Trump has made it clear that reality is not important to him,” he said, warning, “he is now making real policy based on fake facts”.
It’s a scary world out there.
