‘Game of Thrones’ has become synonymous with tortuously slow and vague trailers in the lead up to each season, and the latest clip is no different. Entitled ‘The Long Walk’, the 80 second clip has Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow and Cersei Lannister simultaneously walking slowly towards a throne.

Considering that the king, or more likely queen, of the seven kingdoms is where the entire series has been heading, there are a bunch of theories being thrown about based on the trailer’s hidden meaning.

We last saw Cersei as she was crowned queen of Westeros after blowing up an entire city on the DL, she ends season 6 on the Iron Throne in King’s Landing. While Jon became King in the North in the final ep, we can assume he is in the Great Hall of Winterfell.

But we left Daenerys as she set sail to Westeros with her army, yet in the trailer she appears to be on land and sitting on a thrown made of rock. Throners are already hypothesising that she’s in the previously unseen Throne Room at Dragonstone, the ancestral seat of House Targaryen in Westeros. It’s a bloody game-changer.

Even the song played during the trailer is being over-analysed to death. The track by James is called ‘Sit Down‘, so there’s an obvious (and slightly on the nose) correlation between the lyrics and the GoT rivals right to the throne.
