Lorde has been slinging out absolutely ace covers while on her Melodrama tour, and while performing in Kanye’s hometown, she’s honoured his legacy with some slick Yeezy tunes.

“It must be nice to come from the same place as Kanye West,” Lorde said to her audience on Tuesday night at her Chicago show. She surprised everyone with an a capella version of ‘Love Lockdown’, from Kanye’s 2008 808s & Heartbreak. It’s croony and and soulful just like we would expect from our Melodrama queen.

As far as tribute covers go, this one is gold. You can check it out in this fan filmed clip.

Lorde also weaved part of Kanye’s ‘Runaway’ into her piano-led performance of ‘Liability’, which is something she’s done before on stage at Coachella. They make a beautiful combo.

We can add this fierce version of Kanye’s ‘Love Lockdown’ to Lorde’s ever-growing collection of iconic covers that includes music by Frank Ocean, Prince, Bruce Springsteen and Whitney Houston to name a few.

Pray she keeps them coming.
