Watch Marshawn Lynch and Cara Delevingne Star In Gaming Ad For Call Of Duty
Gaming is big business, with successes stories raking in more than many Hollywood blockbusters. Call Of Duty is one of those games. The military-themed shoot’em up has taken in $10 billion in sales over the last few years. That’s more than the five highest grossing films of all time combined. Bonkers stuff.
So, it’s no wonder they can afford to put together a dope trailer to promote the latest release in the franchise. With big budgets, the marketing around ‘COD’ is nearly as highly anticipated as the release itself. Thankfully the trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 which is out November 6th, doesn’t disappoint.
In this latest clip we see Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch joined by supermodel Cara Delevingne and actor Michael B. Jordan battle it out to the score or The Rolling Stones ‘Paint It Black’. Apparently all three are avid COD fans. Delveigne pulls some massive moves, looking A+ in a slow-mo post kill strut.
Matt Jarvis, chief strategy officer and partner at Activision’s ad agency 72andSunny told Mashable that the ad is designed to be as authentic as possible while breaking down some gaming sterotypes. Jordan, Lynch and Delevingne are well-known players and “authentic fans of the brand,” he said, and their status in the film, TV, sports and fashion worlds will help “make this launch as big as possible and be part of the broader popular culture in the process.”
