Watch The New Trailer For Steven Spielberg’s Adaptation of The BFG
Roald Dahl’s classic 1982 novel, The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) is among the storyteller’s most cinematic books. So, it’s awesome news for fans that cinematic wizard Steven Spielberg and Disney have come together to recreate it for the big screen.
The story is based around an orphan called Sophie (Ruby Barnhill), who is plucked from her home by the giant (Mark Rylance). After striking up a friendship, Sophie helps the big guy stop the other not-so-friendly giants from indulging in their favourite past time of violently murdering and eating children. Thankfully, the BFG doesn’t care for this one bit.
Today Disney have dropped the first look at the new movie, which is set for release on July 1, 2016. The moody clip shows that the team will be able to piece together a thrilling, kid-friendly flick that’s artistic and entertaining.
