The remake of childhood fave Jumanji just dropped it’s first trailer. Be warned: it doesn’t look anything like the original.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle isn’t just missing the late, great Robin Williams, it’s just a totally different film. The board game is no more. Instead, it’s traded in for a video game that sucks in a bunch of kids. The players become their avatars and are no longer themselves, or in the real world for that matter. This also means that the elements of the game, like giant spiders, that freaky hunter and that epic stampede have no impact on the other people and buildings in the real world, something which made the original so damn good.

It’s also worth noting that the children’s avatars just happen to be Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan. So while the film doesn’t feel much like the original, tbh it still looks like a lot of fun. We’ll give it a crack – but we’ll take it for what it is.
