What’s something all women want in life? Good skin and orgasms.

When We-Vibe sent me an email saying they wanted to send me a vibrator titled the Touch X for my face, I was perplexed. A vibrator? For my… face?

But I am a woman who is always up for a challenge, so when I was promised things like “increased circulation”, “less puff”, and “more glow”, I was beyond intrigued.

Let’s not lie to ourselves: skincare isn’t exciting. Whether you’re half-asleep and bored rubbing all sorts of life-changing serums into your face, whether you’re using your PeppyCo mask for the fourth time this week praying it will stop the outbreak you have from eating a whole jar of chocolate almonds, or whether you’re just a cleanser and moisturiser kinda gal – it’s hardly the most thrilling part of our day.

But just like an annoying toddler, your skin must be taken care of. And if you start now, you’ll reap the benefits later.

Using a vibrator on my face? But why?

It turns out your face has erectile tissue and responds in the same way as other sensitive areas.

So by adding a vibrator to your beauty routine, you’ll enjoy the benefits of increased circulation which means less puffiness and more glow. Basically, if you also spend a lot of time crying at 11am every day watching the presser, you too could do with vibrating your face.

“The face is highly sensitive and has many erogenous zones. When you stimulate certain areas, it can feel incredibly pleasurable and even arousing!” said Georgia Grace, We-Vibe Touch X resident health and wellness expert.

And if it’s good enough for the rich and the famous, it’s good enough for us too.

Last year Toni Braxton shared her beauty routine with Vogue, using a vibrator to depuff her under-eye bags. While it may not be scientifically proven to create long-term results, there’s no harm in trying if you’re trying to achieve an instant glow for your next social outing.

OK, so how do I incorporate it into my routine?

Thank you for asking! There are SO many ways.

You can use the Touch X in the shower with your regular cleanser, or in the morning to help absorb your serum. Want to apply a face mask at night? Use the Touch X for that too!

“When paired with a cleanser, a touch of vibration also allows for the product to shift makeup easily and break down oils that have built up during the day to rinse clean.  A mindfully incorporated facial massage using the Touch X can bring out the effectiveness of beauty products and leave you with a post-spa glow,” said Fabiola Gomez, CEO of Sydney’s LUXit Beauty Concierge.

Plus, your face getting a nice little massage can promote collagen production, ease tension, and assist with lymphatic drainage for the removal of toxins from the body*.

*I assume this can only mean all the lockdown wine we’ve all consumed in the last 18 months.

Sooooo, how did it work and how does it feel?

Picture this: it’s 8pm on a Monday night, you’ve polished off your delicious takeaway Thai dinner, and you’re watching (and sporadically tearing up at) the blind auditions of The Voice because it’s eight weeks into lockdown and your brain stopped functioning properly about six weeks ago. While this is all happening, you’re gently vibrating your face.

It felt exactly how using a vibrator on your face would feel. I put on a serum and let the vibrator work its magic, blending the serum into my skin and leaving it feeling all tingly and alive.

I can’t say I looked in the mirror after and saw Toni Braxton staring back at me, but it did feel like it woke my face up and gave it some life.

I also figure it may be perfect to use to get all the tension out of my neck after spending most of my time hunched over my laptop working from home. Who doesn’t love a multi-purpose device?! Stay tuned…

Can I… use it elsewhere?

Do what you want! I’m not your mother. Just clean it, for the love of God.
