Show Us Your Best Upcycled Outfit & You Could Win A $1000 Gift Card
AUSTRALIA’S LEADING DESIGN SCHOOL SINCE 1987
Buying clothes online is great but have you ever walked into an op shop and found a killer outfit that’s straight out of the golden years of fashion?
If you have, that outfit could now win you a $1000 Visa gift card from Billy Blue College of Design at Torrens University Australia.
Billy Blue has an amazing Bachelor of Branded Fashion Design that teaches you the business of designing and creating your own outfits as well as how to start your own label and work towards a sustainable fashion industry. That’s why they want to throw down some cash to reward Punkee’s best upcycler.
Your mind has probably already started swiping through all your second-hand outfits like Cher’s wardrobe machine from Clueless, so here’s how you can win: just put together an outfit from clothes you’ve thrifted or found op-shopping, or stay home, stay safe, and raid your parent’s wardrobe for a look. Then upload your upcycled outfit below.
We’ll pick the best look to be featured on the Punkee website and the winner will receive a $1000 gift card to spend on whatever they like.
Show us your favourite outfit to wear to brunch with the squad, the vintage power suit that makes you confident in job interviews, or your go-to date-night look for when you want to make your crush fall low-key in love with you.
We want to see the sustainably-sourced outfits that make you feel the most like yourself.
Need help picking just one outfit? Check out how Amelia Lee does it – we challenged this talented Billy Blue graduate to style outfits for a red carpet and an after party using only second-hand and recycled materials.
Watch her expert thrifting skills in action then get ready for your own op-shop photoshoot. We can’t wait to see what you make! You’re going to look amazing, sweetie.
Say hello to our winner! Gabrielle created a colour-blocked outfit from upcycled denim. It’s a super clever way to recycle old clothes without wasting anything, and we’re low-key jealous of all those pockets.
