Faith in humanity: Restored.

Recently in India, over two thousand women took part in crocheting the largest blanket – over a period of six months. Their hardwork, sweat (and probably some tears, crocheting is freaking difficult people) produced an 11,148-square-metre bedspread. Wow.

But that’s not the best part guys, all the little crocheted blankets that make up the one big blanket, will and have been donated to the needy and homeless.

In a Facebook post, the Chennai-based project initiator, Subashri Natarajan, announced:

“Our ultimate goal of our mission to donate to NGOs has been fulfilled with the help of our Tamilnadu police department… We have donated all our 8,034 blankets to needy people.”

The two thousand women, known as Mother India’s Crochet Queensbroke annihilated the previous record of a 3,377-square-metre blanket held by a South African group. They were awarded their title on Sunday.
