Vulcan From ‘Gladiators’ Is Back And Ready To Take On ‘Australian Ninja Warriors’
As Australian Ninja Warrior continues to kill it in ratings, the ultimate Aussie warrior – motherfunkin’ Vulcan – has stepped up to share his thoughts on the new challenge-based series.
Earlier this week when ANW debuted, comparisons to 90’s series Gladiators were sizzling up social media. But now the big man, the myth, the legend himself…VULCAN has had his say on the similarities.
The TV star, whose real name is shockingly not Vulcan and is in fact John Seru, appeared on the hot91.1 breakfast show with Dave, Sam and Ash and was asked what his feelings were on the reality show.
“I’m sitting there watching it and it reminds me of the old Gladiators days,” Vulcan said. But he didn’t stop there, adding that he’d be keen to take on the warrior course:
“Man, I would smash that!” he said.
What a total Vulcan thing to say. Welcome back old friend.
Although when the hosts asked if he’d like them to speak to the producers about getting him on the next season he was not too keen, noting that he has injuries since his his days of slaying the Gladiator arena.
“Probably not,” he said. “I’m just saying, I’d probably smash it.”
The interview then took a strange turn when Vulcan said he was not a fan of Freddie Flintoff – one of the presenters on the Channel Nine show.
“I’ll smash the Pommy commentator,” he said. “Good for him for being a cricketer but he’s not a commentator.”
Ouch! But you heard it from the king, so you know Flintoff better watch his back.
