Over the weekend Season 3 of You finally dropped on Netflix, and the streaming platform also confirmed Season 4 is on its way.

This is especially great news as the latest season is excellent, already garnering rave reviews. Season 3 is a change of pace for the show, as it’s no longer driven solely by Joe’s latest obsession. This season picks up a few months after Forty’s death, with Joe and Love living in the suburbs, where Love has given birth to their baby (who turned out to be a boy after Joe was promised a girl).

The couple got married in the time between seasons, assumedly only due to Love being pregnant. The season sees the couple wrestling with how to adapt to married life, attending couple’s therapy, trying to fit in with the suburban elite, keeping their sex life interesting, all while attempting to remain monogamous.

I say attempting because both parties end up straying — and with deadly consequences.

That’s right, Joe and Love are back doing what they do best: killing anyone who comes in their way. In Joe’s case, he develops new obsessions with women, wanting to eliminate the men who threaten a potential soul mate connection — which is classic Joe from Season 1. While Love is unable to restrain herself from her impulses to kill anyone who endangers her family. And I mean anyone. If we thought Joe had violent tendencies, Love is a whole different level of psychopath.

She kills her neighbour Natalie for flirting with Joe and an anti-vaxxer for being complicit in her son Henry getting the measles — and they’re just the people she successfully murdered. This season, Love is unhinged.

As Joe pursues Natalie (RIP!) and then coworker Marienne, Love ends up striking an unlikely romance with Natalie’s step-son, Theo. Joe increasingly loses interest in Love, but this only encourages his wife to make their marriage work at any cost. She even enlists the help of Sherry — an annoying mummy blogger within the suburban social scene — to try to spice up their sex lives. Joe’s awkward reaction to the swingers scene is seriously so damn good.

Love’s erratic behaviour starts to worry Joe, especially after learning that she was responsible for her ex-husband’s death. It all culminates in Love trying to poison Joe, but he poisons Love in return, and by the end of the finale, Love is dead. I know she’s a murderer, but the scene where Joe carries her body was simply tragic.

Joe ties up loose ends by leaving Henry in the capable hands of his library coworker, and leaving a note that connected Love to all the previous murders — including his own, which involved him cutting off his own toes to place at the crime scene. In the final minutes, we find Joe has started anew, he escaped to start another life (and another season) in the city of love: Paris.

It’s the Emily In Paris crossover no one expected but we welcome all the same! What a season! Let’s relive the magic through some hilarious tweets.
