Freckles are incredibly hot right now but if you’re not naturally freckly, or Lindsay Lohan, drawing on fake freckles can be a fun option.

Typically these freckles wash off, however YouTuber UGLY SXE GIRL filmed a tutorial using henna tattoo ink to create semi-permanent freckles. They actually look super realistic.

Here’s the video:

This trend took a dark turn when YouTuber Naomi Jon attempted to get the same results. Her first mistake was not using carrot oil on her face before beginning. Then when using henna she dotted faux freckles across her face and it quickly started to burn. Her whole face eventually blushed with a red rash and when she tried to wipe it off the henna looked even worse.

“Do I need to cut my face off?” she shrieks in the video. It is basically a nightmare.

It’s actually terrifying.

This should be a warning to us all to not try and recreate those bonkers tutorials we see all over the interwebs. But then again, those faux freckles in the first clip do look really cute.
