A Billionaire Is Holding A ‘Bachelor’ Style Competition To Find His True Love
While we may be months away from the 2020 Bachy series, there’s a billionaire in Japan holding his very own competition to try and find his one true love.
Yusaku Maezawa is a 44-year-old fashion entrepreneur who has opened applications online to find his new special someone, and yes, it’s a global competition. Maezawa is simply just looking for someone who’s optimistic, with a bright personality, and over the age of 20.
Oh and also someone who wants world peace.
But wait! There’s more.
Maezawa wants to take his new life partner to the moon with him. Like, forget a bath with a moonlit backdrop. He wants to take his future woman to the literal moon.
Matt Agnew, eat your heart out.
And don’t worry about things fizzling out or getting confused when it comes to the “audition” process. Maezawa has a full plan of action. Applications close Jan 17, with the first matchmaking dates to start up mid-Feb. In mid-March, what is assumed to be the “finalists” would get some “special dates” getting to know Maezawa more, and by the end of March he’ll be making his final decision and choosing one partner.
Let’s hope he doesn’t pull a Honey Badger on us. (Will that joke ever get old? Will I be saying things like that until I’m old, grey and have nothing to show for my life other than an extensive knowledge of Australian reality TV? Hard to say.)
“As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there’s one thing that I think about: continuing to love one woman,” Maezawa wrote on his dating profile. Huge mood.
“I want to find a ‘life partner’. With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space. I look forward to meeting someone amazing,” he said.
I am so weirdly invested in this journey already.
