In the heartwarming news we needed this week, it looks like the feud between Brooke Blurton and Abbie Chatfield is officially over. No, Brooke and Abbie haven’t posted a selfie together, nor have they threaded friendship bracelets (yet!), but Brooke has refollowed Abbie on Instagram.

This is big! If you speak the language of Instagram fluently then you will know that refollowing is essentially refriending someone.

It’s worth noting that Abbie did not unfollow Brooke during their feud.

Brooke unfollowed Abbie last year while The Bachelorette was airing. For the TL;DR of the drama, basically Brooke was disappointed with Abbie after her former friend hard-launched her relationship with Bachy contestant Konrad Bien-Stephens during finale week. Brooke considered the post an attempt ‘taint’ her moment, after all it had been weeks of suspense building up to Brooke choosing Darvid Garayeli as her winner.

The most awkward part of the whole mess was that Abbie appeared on The Bachelorette as one of Brooke’s close friends mere days after she had been unfollowed. A week after the finale, Brooke labelled Abbie’s timing as ‘narcissistic’ and exhibiting “white privilege”. Shortly after, Abbie issued a statement on Instagram to apologise and also addressed Brooke on her podcast, It’s A Lot. Obviously, there’s a lot more to this conflict — read our full explainer here.

But now it seems that the dust has settled over Brooke and Abbie’s beef. With Brooke now following Abbie again, the door is open for their friendship to get back on track — and we love to see it!

In the weeks since The Bachelorette finale, Brooke has split from Darvid while Abbie and Konrad appear to still be going strong. This week Abbie revealed she just landed a dream gig: hosting a new radio show for the Hit Network nightly between 7-9pm called Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield.
