Meet The Actress Playing Sabrina In Riverdale Spin-Off ‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’
Go grab your spellbook and a sarcastic black cat with a whole lot of cattitude, Netflix is rebooting Sabrina the Teenage Witch and have chosen their lead to play Sabrina.
Last year the streaming service confirmed that a new Sabrina series was on its way and would serve as a companion show to Riverdale. Both series’ originated from Archie Comics stories.
Now the actress that will step into the slightly withered shoes of Melissa Joan Hart has been cast. Child star and former Mad Men cast member Kiernan Shipka will take on the role of Sabrina Spellman, with the exciting news confirmed over the weekend.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is excited to invite Shipka into the Riverdale fam, saying:
“We’re all such huge fans of Kiernan’s work that when we started talking about who this new incarnation of Sabrina could be, her names was on everyone’s wish list,” he said.
“This is a darker, more macabre version of Sabrina, and we’re incredibly excited for people to see Kiernan make this iconic character her own.”
The young actress being cast is a promising start to the series that’ll sure to have us all glued to our screens for more magical mishaps from the Spellman clan.
More good news is that the as-yet-untitled Netflix series is expected to premiere later this year. It was previously reported that production would begin in February 2018. Hell yeahz!
We just hope this lil fella makes his long-awaited return to our TVs…
