PSA: Adam From ‘The Bachelorette’ Says He’s Still Single & Open To Finding Love
Adam Todd was one of the good guys on this year’s season of The Bachelorette. The shy geologist won over Aussie fans with his big smile and sweet demeanor, and it also didn’t hurt that he looks like Tarzan.
After his hometown episode last night, an emotional Elly Miles sent him packing. “You have been who you are from the very start and that’s why you stood out so much for me. Whoever ends up with you, bloody hell, they’re going to be such a lucky person,” Elly told Adam.
So while he may not be on our screens any longer, we’ll always remember the good times. The times he appeared shirtless. The time he said his favourite body part was his brain. The time he geeked out on Elly’s rock collection. The time his mates trolled him relentlessly on Instagram.
We spoke to Adam Todd about his time on The Bachelorette and here’s what he had to say.
On becoming Australia’s fan fave:
“I’ve gotten a few DMs, some of them are really nice like ‘me and my husband watch the show and you’re our favourite’, but then you’ve got some… different ones, that are a little bit… different.”
“The support has been very reassuring, I’m a shy bloke and my confidence is something I struggle with, but seeing Australia get behind me has given me a smile. And after that baby date, I think I got about 20 seconds of airtime and I woke up the next morning and I broke the internet a little bit! I just need to go into the clubs now with a fake baby.”

On his mates trolling him on Instagram:
“They do love a good bit of banter, and it was one mate who commented on the first photo and then all my mates got behind it. I think they’re just doing it so I don’t get a big head!”
On why he decided to go on the show:
“Obviously it was a very different experience and a strange way to fall in love. But I’ve always been travelling, so I’ve never really settled and never wanted to commit to someone because I never knew what my next stage would be. I got to the start of this year and I was ready to settle a bit, and I had never been in love before so I wanted to give it a shot. So this show seemed like a way to find someone who was also ready to fall in love.”
On whether he got to chat to Elly again before the rose ceremony:
“That was the final moment, her walking off to the car. That’s the last time I spoke to her before going into the rose ceremony. It’s definitely something I’ve struggled with in the past, letting my emotions out. I had let them out somewhat but, you know, I wish I had chased her down into that car and told her how I was really feeling. So definitely a small regret there, but I’ll learn from that.”
On his feelings towards Elly:
“I definitely feel like I was falling for her. She understood my geeky side, and you know, she had a rock collection! I’ve never had a girl show me her rock collection before. I definitely had a strange but good connection with Elly, but yeah, I was falling for her at that time.”
On the rumours he was bullied by James:
“There was always a bit of tension between the guys. James is a very confident, didn’t really have a filter between brain and mouth. He would say some comments that were probably taken the wrong way. But he’s a good bloke, we’re mates.”
On his reaction to James revealing his fetish at the Halloween party:
“Yeah, I guess if I got asked that question about my fetish I would’ve said something more PG, maybe like my fetish is my rocks! I was hoping James would just say his fetish was wakeboarding, but he went to the triple-X rated side of things, which I was a bit shocked by. That’s what I sort of broke down, I couldn’t believe he said that.”
On whether he’s still looking for love:
“I’m definitely still single, still looking for love! Obviously I’ve never been in love before, it’s going to take someone really special but I’m definitely still a single man.”
On whether he’d consider being the next Bachelor:
“I went into this experience not knowing what to expect. Going through it I truthfully believe now that you can fall in love on a show like this. I guess if Australia wanted to see me fall in love for the first time, and say those three words at the final rose ceremony, then I’d happily do it!”
