Just two weeks into Australian Survivor: Brains v Brawn, we’ve seen chaotic tribal council after chaotic tribal council.

There was Labor Party George and his advantage that saved five people of his choosing in the first Brains elimination. Then we had the massive Brawn blindside that sent big dog Gavin home, thanks to the unexpected play of an idol by Kez. But last night really took the cake as the Brains tribe, once again, failed in their plan to boot out Australian Survivor’s unlikely hero, George.

The Brains tribe have been gunning to get George out since the first day, but their plans have been consistently thwarted by the presence of advantages and idols in the Labor spin-doctor’s favour — and last night was no different.

After losing both the reward and immunity challenge, George and the “Misfit Alliance” — comprised of Cara, Baden, and Wai — scrambled to find an idol to stop the majority’s plan to boot George out. But by the grace of God, or by the interference of producers, Cara managed to find the immunity idol, which left the majority alliance with no other choice but to try recruiting Puzzle Master Wai to their side to successfully split the vote between Cara and George.

Sadly, in a move that was like a knife to the heart, Wai wound up betraying George despite him really being the only one who protected the puzzle master when the entire tribe wanted her gone after the first challenge.

Coping the betrayal on the chin, the remaining members of the Misfit Alliance tried their hardest to confuse the majority at Tribal Council by playing hot potato with Cara’s immunity idol. However, the idol hopping didn’t work and the majority managed to eliminate Cara in a re-vote after she selflessly gave immunity to George.

Sat on the bench looking like an old Russian woman selling fruit from a roadside cart, George gave a passionate speech reminding everyone he was from Bankstown, which was swiftly followed by loud sobbing over Cara’s generous act. Thankfully, for those of us who thrive off drama, the episode ended by revealing that the game is not actually over for Cara at all! Instead, Cara leaves the Brains tribe to join the Brawn.

Hoo boy, what an episode!
