If you’re still feeling emotional after last night’s heartbreaking episode of Australian Survivor, we’ve got some wholesome news to cheer you up.

UPDATE: The GoFundMe page for Luke Toki has now hit its goal of raising $500,000 for the young dad and his family.

Fan fave Luke Toki was eliminated from the competition last night, coming in at fourth place. The hot favourite to win the series, Luke’s game on Survivor outshone his rivals but after failing to win immunity in last night’s challenge, the remaining contestants opted to eliminate their biggest threat.

While the gameplay made perfect sense, it was Luke’s backstory that really tugged on the heartstrings – the father of three left his family when his newborn daughter was six weeks old to compete on the show, not long after she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. He talked openly about wanting to win the prize money at the end in order to help out his family.

Now a fan has started a GoFundMe for Luke with the target of raising $500,000 — the equivalent of the Survivor winnings.

The page states:

“Let’s be honest…Luke Toki is the best Australian Survivor contestant, ever.

We first met the FIFO worker from Western Australia two years ago when he made a name for himself as the ‘King of the Jungle’ on the 2017 season of Survivor.

Then this year saw his return as a Champion in the 2019 season. Leaving behind his young family, he had one aim – to take out the title of Sole Survivor and in turn, win $500k to provide a better life for them.

With two young sons with autism and a baby girl with cystic fibrosis, $500k would be a life-changing amount for the Toki’s.”

As for Luke himself, he’s taken the blow of not winning like a champ and has thrown support behind Pia Miranda who copped backlash after voting him out last night.

The Australian Survivor finale airs tonight on Channel 10 at 7:30pm.
