When it comes to this season of Bachelor In Paradise, it was Litney’s world and we were just living in it.

Brittney Weldon was 2020’s breakout star and her journey to find love captivated fans. She first started pursuing Jamie Doran but when he put her firmly in the friendzone, Litney began a romance with Pie-Man Jackson Garlick. But she wasn’t the only one interested in Jackson and she had to fight off Cass Mamone for his affections.

In the end, Jackson chose Litney and they left paradise together but eventually split when back in Australia. So what went wrong between herself and Jackson and what was her reaction to hearing Cass’ not-so-nice comments about her?

We spoke to Brittney about Jackson, Cass, Jamie and what’s next for her beyond Bachelor In Paradise.

On what happened with Jackson:

“So I went to Sydney and I saw him for his birthday and then I met his family and friends. We had good times but unfortunately life just gets in the way. We’re just friends now. It was a mutual decision, we obviously weren’t at the stage of moving states or anything like that and the distance was too much, so we mutually ended it.”

On hearing Cass’ comments about her on BIP:

“It’s upsetting to see that someone thought so little of me but that’s just what she thinks. I’m so proud of myself for how I handled it. If she wants to think like that, then go ahead. But I would never say anything like that to a person or about a person.

“I wasn’t caught off guard [hearing her comments] because I knew that she didn’t like me. I don’t know why. I think she thought I was too crazy, I dunno. I have a tattoo on my arm and she once said to me ‘That’s so embarrassing, that’s in two languages’,” Brittney told us.

“We’re totally different people and it’s fine that we’re not friends but I would never put anyone down, even if we were or weren’t friends,” she said, adding, “I’ve never gotten an apology from her [for lying about giving her rose to Jackson] and I don’t think I ever will.”

On Cass claiming she got a bad edit:

“I don’t think anyone can blame editing because they can’t edit what you say. Everything that I said or did was shown correctly. I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience but I don’t believe there is such thing as editing.”

On whether she thinks Jamie led her on in order to get her rose every week:

“Looking back at it, yes. But while I was there, I thought it might have led to something. In hindsight, maybe I should have picked up on a few cues, but it is what it is and we had a really good time while we were there, so it was fine. And in the end I found someone that I really liked so there was a happy ending anyways.”

On the rumour that Timm and Britt didn’t just leave, Timm was actually kicked off the show:

“I got to say goodbye to Britt,” she said. “I’m not too sure why they left or how they left, all I know is that they just left suddenly. I don’t like to get into the gossip. Whatever happened, happened. I’m not too sure.”

On whether she would ever do The Bachelorette:

“Absolutely. Line me up, 24 men! Hello! I’m interested. [It would be] a whole lot of crazy but it would be someone genuinely looking for love.”

The finale of Bachelor In Paradise begins Sunday at 7:30pm on Channel 10.
