Mary From ‘Big Brother’ Reckons Producers Asked Her To Snub Marley But No One Is Buying It
Mary Kalifatidis became a mother hen figure in the Big Brother house, but her brutal snubbing of Marley Biyendolo when she was evicted left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths.
The moment came after Marley put up his longtime ally Mary for eviction, assuming she would be a “safe vote” aka a popular housemate who is nominated so that everyone evicts one of the other nominees. However, Marley was played by Daniel Hayes and his alliance seized the chance to vote out Mary. When her name was read aloud, Mary hugged everyone goodbye, except Marley — who she completely ignored.
It was one of the most savage moments of the season, and it left Marley absolutely shattered.
Marley “this game man, I couldn’t even get a hug(from Mary) that hurts man"
BB tells Marley, Mary will understand when she sees how all this unfolded
Marley “think so?”
BB “yes”
Marley, she knows who I am, knows I have a good heart.

But now, Mary is claiming that there was more to that parting scene than meets the eye. In a screenshot shared on the So Dramatic! Instagram account, a Big Brother fan and Mary exchange messages where the user tells Mary that snubbing Marley was “Not nice!” and Mary sends back, “I am so close to Marley so believe what you want, I was asked not to hug him from production.”
UMM WHAT.

As someone extremely well-versed in all things reality TV, such a scenario wouldn’t surprise me. There have been countless accounts of reality stars complaining how the production team has influenced their decisions while filming.
However, shortly after this post appeared, fellow housemate Tilly Whitfield posted the below comment — then swiftly deleted it — which appears to reject Mary’s claims.
Reading in between the lines here, Tilly seems to be saying that Mary has tried to take the heat off off Marley, by saying there was no bad blood between them — instead producers were behind her brutal eviction goodbye.
Early evicted housemate, Mel McGorman, went one step further, declaring that Mary’s statement was a “Load of crap.”
When questioned further, Mel said that, “You don’t see anyone and you only talk to the BB voice. They can’t tell people what to do when there is money at the end,” the sheep farmer posted.
For what it’s worth, Mary’s rejection of Marley has only made him more popular with viewers. The basketballer is currently the overwhelming favourite to win Big Brother in the betting odds. After last night’s touching moment where he spoke about his father, he has my full support.
