It’s Almost Breakup Day, So Let’s Discuss The Best Food To Order When You Get Dumped
As the end of the year gets closer, so does December 11 — AKA the day you’re most likely to get dumped by your significant other.
There isn’t a lot you can do to prepare yourself for a breakup, but it’s important to start your emotional recovery as soon as heartbreak strikes. And often, that recovery starts with indulging in something delicious.
While chocolates and ice cream are go-to breakup snacks in movies and TV shows, according to Menulog, the ultimate breakup meal is actually *drum roll* fish and chips. More specifically, it’s fish and chips from Loz’s Fish & Chip Shop in Sunbury, Victoria.
As part of the 2021 Menulogies, the delivery service looked at what potentially heartbroken people were ordering on December 11 2020. It turns out, there’s nothing like a potato scallop — or potato cake — and chips with extra chicken salt to mend a broken heart. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense.
During the Menulogies, Menulog also discovered that pizza was — unsurprisingly — the cuisine of the year, and that Australia’s favourite 4.20pm snack (IYKYK) was the Sneaky Signature Burger from Sneaky Burger Co in Albion Park, NSW, which comes with maple bacon and a double patty. Yum!
Menulog fans were also able to vote for their favourite local takeaway as part of the 2021 Menulogies, and these are the restaurants that came out on top:
- NSW: Absolut Indian, Hammondville
- VIC: Schnitz Burwood One, Burwood East
- QLD: Randhawa’s Indian Cuisine, Hope Island
- WA: Mario’s Pizza, Dianella
- SA: Cafe Verde Pizzeria, Fairview Park
- NT: Grill Me Crazy, Alice Springs
- TAS: Launnie Kebab House, Kings Meadow
- ACT: fricken, Braddon
It’s been a rough year, to say the least. So, here’s hoping you don’t get dumped on December 11 — and that, if you do, your chippies are crispy and fish perfectly flakey.
