Throughout the past month, Bridgerton has slowly but surely become the show we’ve all been hooked on. And today, Netflix has given us the best news ever: Bridgerton has been renewed for Season 2!

Check out the official announcement here:

In true Bridgerton form, Netflix announced the news through a very special instalment of Lady Whistledown’s Society Paper. In this letter, Lady Whistledown (who is voiced by Julie Andrews on the show) lets us know that Season 2 will follow Anthony, the eldest Bridgerton sibling, as he goes in pursuit of finding a wife. This plotline follows the narrative in the second book of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.

The show, created by Chris Van Dusen, will start filming this spring in the UK and will likely have the entire Season 1 cast back for round two (albeit to varying degrees).

“The ton are abuzz with the latest gossip, and so it is my honor to impart to you: Bridgerton shall return for a second season. I do hope you have stored a bottle of ratafia for this most delightful occasion,” Lady Whistledown wrote.

“This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season, I will have my pen ready to report on any and all of his romantic activities.”

In terms of new additions to the cast, Van Dusen said that casting is well underway. “We have a bunch of new characters we are going to be introducing,” he said in an interview with Today with Hoda & Jenna. “Anthony is going to have a love interest next season, and I think it’s going to be as sweeping and moving and as beautiful as viewers of the first season have come to expect from the show.”
