Brooke Blurton has set the record straight over her on/off friendship with fellow reality star, Abbie Chatfield.

In case you were wondering: Brooke and Abbie are not friends anymore.

In an Instagram Q&A, Brooke replied to a fan who asked her if she had rekindled her friendship with Abbie, following their rather public feud in 2021. Brooke did not mince her words, revealing she had decided to “close that chapter” on their friendship.

Brooke wrote that the former friend’s falling out “stung for awhile”, which began during her season of The Bachelorette when Abbie announced on Instagram that she was dating one of Brooke’s finalists, Konrad Bien-Stephen, during finale week.

What followed was Brooke calling out Abbie for showing “narcissism” and “white privilege”, prompting Abbie to publicly apologise.

In the months since, Brooke is now claiming that Abbie hasn’t put in much effort to get their friendship back on track. “I had a lot of respect for Abbie, still do but as a friend, was really hurt by how she neglected our friendship,” Brooke wrote.

“If she genuinely opened the line up for communication, I would have been able too, but she made her mind up to avoid anything to do with me.”

Brooke clarified that she still valued Abbie’s “media/social/advocacy work” and how her fans connected and resonated with her, but she added that the radio host and podcaster was simply “not my jam.”

The Bachelorette’s statement follows her revealing in an episode of her podcast, Not So PG, that originally Abbie was not expected to appear as her friend in finale week, but she had to replace her cohost Matty Mills at the last-minute due to COVID restrictions.

Aside from her apology, Abbie has remained largely silent over her friendship status with Brooke. She did address Brooke refollowing her at the start of the year, telling News Corp in January “She just refollowed me on Instagram,” Abbie said.

“I never unfollowed her, but she refollowed me recently, so there is not too much to that story.”

Both women are still currently following each other on Instagram.
