Brooke Blurton Says She’s ‘Energised & Ready To Go’ Ahead Of Bachelorette Filming

It was recently announced Brooke Blurton would be taking on the role as our 2021 Bachelorette and we couldn’t be more stoked.

Brooke is Australia’s first Indigenous Bachelorette and she’ll also be creating a series first as she looks for love dating both women and men in her season.

Fans of The Bachelor franchise have been calling out for diversity on the show for years, and Brooke is a perfect pick for the lead role. Passionate about social justice, the youth worker first graced our screens in the 2018 season of The Bachelor, before appearing on Bachelor In Paradise in 2019. While she didn’t find everlasting love with the Honey Badger or on Paradise, we’re hoping it’s third time lucky for the fan favourite.

With filming to commence for The Bachelorette soon, Brooke dropped a statement on her Instagram page saying she was still in isolation but ready to go.

“Update is that I have a few more days of isolating in Sydney before I head into 🎥 ,” Brooke captioned the photo. “I’m getting Covid tested one more time and I’m feeling more relaxed and zen. It was really important for me to get my body right after experiencing some extreme fatigue and right now I’m energised, happy and ready to go.”

After The Bachelorette announcement, Brooke also took to Instagram to express her feelings, addressing the pressure she feels to protect the communities she’s a part of.

“I know we’ve not always got it right as society in representing these minority groups but this is why I’m here. This is all to the little girls, boys, however you identify who never felt represented as Indigenous, POC and/or as part of the LGBTQIA+ community,” Brooke wrote.

“I feel you, I see you and I can’t wait for you to be on this journey with me 💛.”
