Celeb Spellcheck Is Back With A Vengeance & The Latest Influencer Gaffe Is So Damn Funny
The day that Celeb Spellcheck stopped posting snarky takedowns of influencers was a national day of tragedy for us all.
The account had previously gained a huge following, before it was taken down in April, only to return in May as an entirely different page. The new version posted exclusively ’00s nostalgia and you know what? It was a vibe! However, that doesn’t mean we didn’t long for the page’s trademark roastings of some of Instagram’s most problematic and cringe-worthy accounts.
But Celeb Spellcheck is back, baby! The page started out by making fun of The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills star Kyle Richards, then slowly but surely the account started pumping out content taking aim (once again) at Aussie influencers. We love to see it!
And the latest drag is so damn satisfying. This time around, Australian model/influencer Madi Edwards was Celeb Spellcheck’s target after she promoted Bali Body’s spray tan. In one of Madi’s Instagram Stories, she can be seen testing if the tan rubs off after application by rubbing a towel against her arm — only it doesn’t look like the towel ever makes contact with her skin.
Celeb Spellcheck’s account is on private but if you follow the account, you can watch the Instagram post here.
Here’s a breakdown of the video:
Madi starts out spraying the tan, nothing to see here!
She then reminds us that she has a right arm by pointing at the limb. Good information to know.
Madi shows that she has a clean white towel to test whether her right arm’s (pictured above) tan will transfer.
She waves the towel across her skin, not appearing to actually touch her arm with the cloth whatsoever.
Wallah! The towel is still clean!
The video was captioned:
The clip has been flooded by people commenting about how obvious it looks that she didn’t touch her arm, while others are saying that this does a disservice to the product.
Celeb Spellcheck’s latest roasting follows the page taking aim at Married at First Sight’s Jake Edwards’ influencer ex Sophie Guidolin. The health and fitness expert posted to her IG Stories to promote skincare brand Skóra that targets rosacea, eczema, and acne.
The way she tried to sell this product was nothing short of baffling.
Sophie started off showing some red blemishes on the left side of her face.
Then faced the product she was using to camera. So far, so good.
Then when it came to the results from using the skincare product, Sophie showed the opposite side of her face.
What a miracle!
Ah influencers, please never change.
