What The Fook Is Happening With Clinton Kane And Brooke Schofield?

Just when I thought it had been suspiciously quiet on TikTok, a doozy ended up on my FYP. A 14-part series filmed mainly in the kitchen of Brooke Schofield, a woman who I’d never seen before in my life, was filling me on the long list of lies that her ex-boyfriend had told her.

And when I say long, I mean 11 seriously chonky fibs about almost every single aspect of his life.

The dude in question is Clinton Kane, a musician who also has over two million followers on TikTok. Brooke and Clinton dated for a couple of months two years, and now – perhaps conveniently when Brooke has a podcast and Clinton is releasing new music – all of the drama from their short relationship is being aired.

As I’m writing this, I’m still not sure what team (if any) I’m on. But hopefully, as I unpack the chaos in full, I’ll come to some sort of stance by the end. Fingers crossed!

How did Brooke Schofield and Clinton Kane meet?

As many juicy love stories begin, Clinton slid into Brooke’s DMs, inviting her to his gig. While she admits she wasn’t very attracted to him at first, seeing him perform live and having some drinks with him afterwards led to a pash.

The two then started seeing each other, and it’s during this period that Brooke claims Clinton got a little possessive. “The first red flag I identified was that Kane would not allow me time alone, and when I asked to, he would begin arguing with me and asking ‘strange’ questions like: ‘Why don’t you want to be with me?'” she alleged.

What did Clinton Kane say about his mum?

Alright, time to unpack the fibs. In one of her videos, Brooke recounted a dinner she had with Clinton where he revealed that his mum, dad and brother had all died in 2020.

“He tells me his mum, his dad and his brother all died in the same year, which is f**king horrible, like, obviously just unimaginable. So I’m like, blown away,” Brooke recalled. “Thing is, this isn’t true, as Kane’s mother and brother are very much alive, though he is estranged from them,” she explained.

“His dad is dead, not that that’s a good thing. But there’s one out of three that are dead, and the rest are still kicking.”

What did Clinton Kane lie about?

Beyond the rather large lie about his family’s ‘tragedy’ Brooke also said that Clinton lied about his age (claiming to be three years younger than he was) and his nationality, saying he was Aussie when apparently he’s actually from Brunei. He doubled down hard on this one, allegedly speaking in a fake Australian accent the entire time.

Because there are actually so many fibs to get across, I thought a numbered list would get us all up to speed in record time. So here it is – all of Clinton Kane’s alleged lies.

  1. He claimed to be from Perth, Australia. He’s apparently from Brunei.
  2. He lied about his age and is three years younger than he initially told Brooke.
  3. Clinton told her his mum, dad, and brother all died within a year. His father is dead, but his mother and brother are very much alive and kicking (with live Facebook pages).
  4. He said that he had to attend all their funerals on Zoom because it all happened during COVID. On account of them not being dead, there were also no funerals.
  5. Clinton appeared to be unable to keep the story of how his mum ‘died’ straight. There were accounts of her falling down the stairs and tales of having to pull the plug when she was in a coma.
  6. He told Brooke that his mother was Norwegian and blonde — Brooke says she is Asian.
  7. Clintons said that his mother would leave for months at a time when he was young because when she wasn’t busy being a pastor at Hillsong, she apparently had so many fancy businesses to take care of. Who knows if this is true to any degree.
  8. Clinton said he grew up super rich in an eight-bedroom house on the beach and had lots of nannies and maids tending to him. Love that dream for him, but if he wasn’t even living in Perth, then the Perth beach house feels like a fib.
  9. He said that the girl he wrote his song ‘I’m In Love’ about cheated on him. Apparently the opposite is true, with reports he cheated on her with roughly 15 women.
  10. To add insult to injury, when he first tried to fly out Brooke to dinner, he was still actively dating the ‘I’m In Love’ girl.
  11. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he pretended to be loyal to Brooke while they were dating but also allegedly cheating with many other lasses.

What has Clinton Kane said?

While Brooke has been going to town in her 14-part TikTok series and appearing on podcasts to chat through the drama, Clinton has been relatively quiet.

He’s only released a statement to Rolling Stone, explaining that he wasn’t referring to his biological mother, but a “mother-like figure” who passed away. He also dropped a TikTok video promoting his new song, where he used the caption, “When you’ve been over the relationship for 2 years but she won’t stop yapping,” seemingly a dig at Brooke who is a professional podcaster.

To be honest, after reviewing every nugget of evidence on the internet, I’m still a bit confused. It seems that Clinton has been caught in a big old web of lies, and probably wasn’t prepared for his ex-girlfriend to be so public about what he told her. But I, personally, I am glad that Brooke aired it all, because now TikTok sleuths can keep at the case until we all have full clarity as to what the heck happened.
