This Is How Much Delta Goodrem’s Engagement Ring Costs
Don’t you dare lie to me in answering this question: When someone you know gets engaged and posts about it on Instagram, what do you do first?
…If you didn’t say “I zoom in on the ring,” you’re a GIANT LIAR.
That’s what I do every time. And when our patron saint Delta Goodrem announced her engagement to Matthew Copley last week, you can bet I gave her and her ring the same snoopy treatment.
But then I took it one step further and decided to investigate how much a ring like that actually costs.
A leading diamond expert and specialist at Steven Stone Jewellers, Zack Stone, spoke to the Daily Mail to estimate the real price of Delta’s engagement ring and the figure made my bank account shiver.
Zack explains that the ring features a 3ct round cut diamond in a solitaire setting, which is one of the most popular diamond shapes and is “believed to signal everlasting love and eternity”.
The diamond is set on top of a pavé diamond band, which means that the body of the ring is lined with little diamonds that give it that extra sparkliness. (Not the official term, but you get the gist.)

So let’s get into the maths of it all. Zack estimates that the ring is worth a humongous $123,000.
Yes, that amount of money could score you a house deposit, a new Porsche or even a small castle in Scotland. But Delta’s fiancé channelled all that cash into one whopper of a ring.
Matthew proposed to Delta while on holiday together in Malta. He arranged a string quartet to play for them while they looked out over the sunset and stood on scattered white rose petals.

For reference on where that ring cost sits within the landscape of engagement ring costs, according to a 2020 Australian wedding industry report, the average couple splashed $5367 on an engagement ring.
So, you know, just about $117,633 less than Delta and Matthew. But I’m not judging! When your income is likely a lot higher than the average Aussie and you’re on a world tour where your fingers are on display playing the piano every night in front of thousands, you’d likely invest a fairly large lump of cash into an engagement ring.
