Inside Demi Lovato And Jutes’ “Intimate Proposal”
Demi Lovato has found their ‘4 Ever’ with Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes!
After dating for around a year and a half, the adorable couple are engaged. I’ve been waiting for this news for a while because Demi and Jutes seem both smitten and perfect for each other. There have been tattoos, declarations of love on social media and of course, Demi’s song ‘4 Ever 4 Me’ is dedicated to Jutes.
Jutes and Demi first met in January 2022, during a writing session for the singer’s rock album Holy Fvck. Jutes helped write ‘Happy Ending’ (the best song from the record IMO), ‘Substance’ and ‘City Of Angels’.
The Camp Rock star shared two snaps to announce their engagement – including a close-up of the gorge NYC Material Good pear-shaped diamond ring.
“I’m still speechless. Last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life Jutes,” Demi said. “My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you… every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby.”

Jutes shared the same two photos on his Instagram, calling Demi his “best friend”. “I can’t imagine my life without you and thank god now I’ll never have to. Feeling like the luckiest man alive right now. I’m so in love with you Demi,” he said. “Dunno what I did to deserve you but you’re stuck with my weird ass now. I love you so much baby.”
People reported that after the “personal and intimate proposal”, the lovebirds celebrated at one of their fave restaurants with their families.

Demi has had some questionable previous relationships – like dating Wilmer Valderrama when he was 29 and she was 17 – but Jutes seems to have the seal of approval when it comes to their close friends and family.
“I’m finally getting the brother I never had. I love you guys beyond words,” Demi’s sister Dallas Lovato wrote. “I couldn’t be happier for you both!! I knew the first time I met him, you found your person… your forever. And everyone that’s ever had a glimpse into your relationship feels the soulmate vibes… the kind you only experience once in a lifetime. CONGRATULATIONS LOVES!!!”

“Looks like you found your ‘4 Ever 4 Me’… seriously so happy right now for both of you… looking forward to forever full of Christmas dinners and game nights and escape rooms and watching true crime docs with you BOTH. No one coulda fit in this family better than you Jutes, WE LOVE YALL!!!” Demi’s mum Dianna De La Garza gushed.
“You killed it – I love you both endlessly,” Demi’s bestie Matthew Scott Montgomery added. “It was perfect – you’re both perfect – I’m over the moon happy for you.”
“SO HAPPY,” Demi’s sister Madison De La Garza commented.
Why Demi Lovato’s engagement to Jutes was a long time coming.
Demi previously told Howard Stern they’d discussed marriage with Jutes during a press tour for Revamped. “I’m in an amazing relationship. My boyfriend is a year older than me, and we’re growing together, and it feels so healthy,” they said at the time. “We’ve talked about [marriage]. It’s been about a year and a half [of dating], so we’re taking our time with it a little bit, you know? I think it’s important not to rush that.”
The pair “definitely” want children and Demi seems to finally be in a healthy and happy relationship. “I can say with confidence that my daddy issues aren’t anything that are inside of me anymore. I think there’s a few signs to that. I’m with a partner that is my age, essentially. I look back on the past [of dating older men] and think ‘that’s gross’,” they said.

Demi has also described Jutes as a “perfect human” and “soulmate”, and is responsible for one of his tattoos. “My boyfriend was on tour with me, visiting and we had a tattoo artist there and he wanted to get a tattoo of a song title of mine called ‘4 Ever 4 Me’, which is a song I wrote about him,” the star said on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “While he was getting tattooed, he was like, ‘I want you to do it’. I was like, ‘What?’.”
The singer went on to say they just “assisted”, otherwise it could’ve looked “really bad”. Adorbs.
Demi Lovato’s messy relationship history
This isn’t Demi’s first engagement, as they were previously engaged to fame-hungry Max Ehrich, a period all Lovatics would like to forget about. Their engagement was a whole thing, with a big beach proposal, tears and a giant diamond ring, until Demi dumped him and seemingly kicked him out. Once their relationship was over, Max was papped crying on a beach, which supposedly served as the inspo for Demi’s single ‘15 Minutes’.
Prior to that, there was the questionable age-gap relationship with Wilmer Valderrama, who probably inspired the song ‘29’ from Holy Fvck, a blink-and-you’d-miss-it relationship with Joe Jonas, and I’m convinced Demi had a thing for Nick Jonas. You can’t tell me that ‘Ruin The Friendship’ isn’t about Nick.
There have also been romances with Trace Cyrus, UFC fighter Luke Rockhold, Henry Levy and Guilherme ‘Bomba’ Vasconcelo – but Demi has never seemed as happy as they do, right now.
I’m hopefully optimistic, because it finally looks like Demi is getting their ‘Happy Ending’. After everything they’ve been through, it’s what they deserve.
