Ed Sheeran Has Deleted His Twitter Account Because The GoT Abuse Is Too Heavy
Compared to the subtle celebrity cameos that came before him, Ed Sheeran’s debut in Game Of Thrones was clunky, awkward and uncharacteristic for the show. This fact must be acknowledged.
However, poor Sheeran has been copping an earful of abuse from an angry mob of fans on Twitter and out of the blue he has today made an exit from the platform. Potentially for good.
Being the sensitive, poetic soul that he is, all the shit-hurling insults have become overbearing. Fair enough too. People can suck at the best of times and the celeb trolls on Twitter are a whole new level of evil douchebaggery. Although some of the comments were comedic gold:
If Arya doesn't burn Ed Sheeran he'll come back as a white walker and be playing Westeros Glastonbury for thousands of years. #GoTS7

Despite taking ‘breaks’ from the the ‘microblogging’ service in the past and technically taking a step back off it around a week ago, the call to abandon ship and delete it permanently is his final adios. Without any warning, or even giving the world a heads up, the account was removed from the interwebs. Gone. Zilch. Nothing.
In the past, Ed has mentioned that all the bullying is a total ‘headfuck’ for him. No one should have to cop abuse for going about their business – which for him basically involves transforming extreme talent and lyrical genius into sonic gifts to the universe.
In a previous UK interview he told ‘The Sun’ newspaper:
“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.
The headfuck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”
Oh Ed. We’ll stream that album an extra time if it makes you feel better – you poor soul. We forgive you. It’s not your fault.
The good news is that ol’ Ed Sheeran is still kicking goals with happy snaps on Instagram where he’s been actively posting pics from his recent hiking trip in Peru. Check him out here: @teddysphotos
