The Golden Globes Nominations Are Out & Is That ‘Emily In Paris’??!?! KSKSJKSJKS
Emily In Paris? Nominated? Je suis confused.
Award show nominations are always a contentious time. Every single year when award show nominations drop, we talk about the projects that were praised, the projects that were snubbed, and the projects that didn’t deserve their nomination.
Today we are going to be focussing on the latter, because ummm…Emily In Paris was nominated.
Emily In Paris was nominated for two Golden Globe awards, which is two more than we thought the series would be nominated for. Lily Collins, who plays the Emily in question, is nominated for Best Actress, which we get. But, the ridiculous Netflix series is up for Best Comedy, which… I guess yeah, it was a comedy…
But, don’t take my word for it, the rest of the internet is also confused.
as the creator of Emily in Paris can I just say…….why the fuck were we nominated for a Golden Globe LOL I made that show as a prank

The next time you're overcome by imposter syndrome just take a deep breath and remember that "Emily in Paris" got nominated for a Golden Globe.

While it’s funny that Emily In Paris was nominated, we should also talk about one TV series that missed out. As usual, the nominations for the Golden Globes were overwhelmingly white. And yes, no one is shocked. We must shout out Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You, which was excluded from all 12 categories this year, despite being one of the most acclaimed shows of last year.
emily in paris nominated but i may destroy you isn’t….this is just so..? pic.twitter.com/e3942jdpLH

Snubbing Micaela Cole/'I May Destroy You' and nominating Lily Collins/'Emily in Paris' is yet another example of how there are two sets of rules for Black and white people in this country. The mediocrity, my god.
