  1. Bulgaria – Poli Genova, ‘If Love Was A Crime’

It’s a decent song, but won’t pop on a live stage.

  1. Ukraine – Jamala, ‘1944’

Meaningful lyrics reflecting on World War II atrocities, but within the context of Eurovision- the message might get lost.

  1. Moldova – Lidia Isac, ‘Falling Stars’

Nice enough but generic.

  1. Ireland – Nicky Byrne, ‘Sunlight’

Abysmal lyrics aside, it all feels a bit been there, done that. Brian McFadden-esqe in the worst way.

  1. Serbia – ZAA Sanja Vučić, ‘Goodbye (Shelter)’

Dresses like Amy Winehouse, dances like Lorde but aside from this, meh, nothing spesh.

  1. Italy – Francesca Michielin, ‘Nessun grado di separazione’

Pretty song but a bit safe, and sadly as it’s not in English it will be tougher to translate to an international audience.

  1. Iceland – Greta Salóme, ‘Hear Them Calling’

Song is okay but interactive hands want her soul. The beat is also a tad ‘Little Lion Man’.

  1. Poland – Michał Szpak, ‘Color Of Your Life’

Because you’re worth it? He’s like a European Weird Al Yankovic, great voice but song is average.

  1. Georgia- Nika Kocharov and Young Georgian Lolitaz, ‘Midnight Gold’

This had so much potential to be great, kooky vid, bit of a Muse vibe but lacking a hook and viewers will switch off before they really hit their stride.

  1. Armenia – Iveta Mukuchyan, ‘LoveWave’

#SorryNotSorry, Armenia.
