Calvin Harris is back releasing music again and clearly feeling the love – even between himself and ex Taylor Swift.

The Scottish DJ said that he regrets his salty comments made about Swift following their bitter breakup.

In case you need a quick catchup (*deep breath*): following the pairs breakup, Taylor’s team came out claiming that Swift wrote Calvin’s hit collab with Rihanna, ‘This is What You Came For’. She did in fact ghostwrite the track while loved up with Harris, but at the time didn’t want credit it for it.

So the post-breakup comments were a backflip and a clear attempt to steal her former bloke’s thunder. Calvin then tweeted his shady sentiments not-so-subtly directed at Swift:

“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do,” Harris tweeted.

He was just gettin’ warmed up, following it with:

“I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”

But since their breakup, and the rise and fall of ‘Hiddleswift’ (the short-lived whirlwind relationship between Swift and actor Tom Hiddleston – RIP), Calvin now claims he has reflected and decided he regrets his words.

Calvin told British G.Q. he wished he hadn’t made any comments at all, even though he felt Swift was undermining his songwriting credits.

“It was completely the wrong instinct,” he said. “I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled. It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped.”

“It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly. The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself.”

But taking the highroad, Harris said he got more media attention on the breakup, than when they were together.

“When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus,”

Calvin says”

“She respected my feelings in that sense. I’m not good at being a celebrity.

But when it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure.”

Admitting his reaction was wrong and didn’t do much for his rep, he also added that calling quits on Swift and his year and a half long relationship was for the best.

“It took me a minute to realise that none of that matters,” he recalled.

“For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended, but all of the stuff that happened afterwards.

This of course hasn’t stopped him recently collaborating on a new track and music video called ‘Feels’ with non other than her archenemies Katy Perry.  The chilled out tune also features Pharrell Williams and Big Sean and comes with this pretty trippy visual, stream it below.

I think it’s time for them to both err, shake it off.
