A Farmer Wants A Wife winner just dropped a diss track about her Farmer
I must be living under a rock. I just found out that Farmer Wants A Wife’s winning couple Joe Bobbin and Sarah Carey have split — and it was all thanks to Sarah’s new diss track. I promise I’m not making this up, diss tracks have officially crossed over into the FWAW universe.
While I’m not a huge fan of dating shows, I really do live for the drama that unfolds, and this season is the gift that just keeps giving. 2024’s run ended back in May, but not without a hot mess reunion episode — and the kettle is still boiling.
The former contestant, who’s also known for her songwriting, posted her version of Noah Kahan’s (and Sara Phillips’ remix) huge hit ‘Stick Season’ via Instagram reels over the weekend, and what I wasn’t expecting was to be hit right in the feels.
Listen closely, most of the lyrics throw a lot of shade.
Here are the full lyrics, so you can learn your new breakup anthem or pick them apart for shade:
“You know I loved your mum, but her son is such a dick,
And I should’ve run but I thought that I could fix you.
And it’s all your fault, but you still like to play the victim.
You’ll drink alcohol ‘til the guilt is out your system.
And you proved me wrong and everybody else right,
as I sat in your hometown a thousand miles from mine.
And I’ll blame myself ‘cause I heard the rumours, too,
but I believed you because I always saw the best in you.”
“When life gives you lemons make lemonade, or a song,” Sarah said in her caption. She continues by comparing songwriting to therapy, and that’s honestly such a slay for her. She’s singing her truth, calling out her ex for being a dick and playing the victim — and what more could you want from a diss track?
As for her comment section, it’s been flooded with a tonne of positivity. Fans have been showering Sarah with praise and support, standing by the ex-contestant‘s vulnerable track.
But now let’s get into what we’re all here for: figuring out what shady behaviour Sarah is accusing Farmer Joe of. The comment section of the video is certainly suspicious of Joe cheating, wholly fuelled by the lyrics at the end of the song.
“You proved me wrong and everybody else right as I sat in your hometown a thousand miles from mine,” sings Sarah in the rewritten verse.
“I’ll blame myself ‘cause I heard the rumours too, but I believed you because I always saw the best in you.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time cheating allegations have been hurled at Joe. When the couple’s imminent breakup was being speculated in July, gossip queen So! Dramatic got the tea from one of Sarah’s friends, who said Joe had been “cheating on her [throughout] the whole relationship”.
So if those accusations are true, I’m glad she finally took out the trash.
Whatever the case is, I just know I’ll be keeping this reel on loop and begging her to drop this version on a more permanent platform ASAP.
