‘FBoy Island’ Stars Talk About How Steamy The Series Gets

FBoy Island’s Episode 5 and 6 has really ramped up the heat, with the Binge show continuing to push reality TV boundaries. This week, we saw Darcy throw his toys out of the cot when things didn’t go his way.

Darcy planned to use chicken nuggets to win over Ziara Rae, but threw a tantrum when some of the blokes decided to rile him up. Instead of getting one-on-one time with Ziara, he was constantly interrupted by other people coming up and grabbing a nugget.

Darcy didn’t take the interruptions lightly – and did the worst thing possible: he threw all the nuggets on the grass. Rude!

And in the biggest revelation yet, Molly O’Halloran got intimate with intruder Vernon (you know, the guy who called his moustache a “clit tickler” last week), who sheepishly admitted he’d come on the show as an FBoy.

Seeing that a huge part of the show revolves around the leading ladies trying to figure out if they’re with an FBoy or Nice Guy, host Abbie Chatfield stepped in to make a massive change. Now that Molly knows the status of Nice Guy Nick and FBoy Vernon, everybody’s status is about to be revealed. Buckle up folks, it’s about to get spicy.

To get all the tea about the twist and what’s coming up, we’ve gone direct to the source.

Molly O’Halloran, Ziara Rae and Sophie Blackley chatted to Punkee about that bedroom scene, how to spot red flags, and if FBoys can be reformed.

Note: The below interview has been condensed and edited for clarity.

FBOY Island cast

On the FBoy and Nice Guy statuses being revealed:

Ziara: Our reactions are just so genuine. We had no idea that it would happen so soon and we’d spent weeks trying to figure out who the FBoys are and who the nice guys are. When the bombshell was dropped on us we were shocked.

Sophie: The twist changed everything. My worst fear was that it would change our perspective. I was worried that once we found out their statuses, we would switch our feelings, it was scary.

Ziara: We’re also getting to the point where we were pushing labels to the side and falling in love with these guys. The FBoys have to now put in more effort and show us if they can reform or not. If they came out at the end, where’s their chance to reform?

On if the FBoys are just motivated by money:

Sophie: I think they can come on for the money, but it could be both. Vernon said he thought he was gonna find three clout chasers on the island. I think he’s expressing what is truly in his mind, FBoys can come on and go, shit. I didn’t think these girls would be here.

Molly: It just comes down to the question now is if we believe FBoys can reform and if these guys are actually sorry that they came on as a self-proclaimed FBoy, and if they’re able to change. It’s up to us if we believe them, or if they’re still playing a game.

On what the biggest red flags on social media are:

Molly: I think photos with girls and partying are a big one, but also it’s the thirst traps. It’s the shirtless pics. It’s also about their followers, and seeing who’s interacting with the page. Is it more guys than girls, how are they responding to these comments? Are they wanting a lot of validation externally? Are they a bit flirtatious to anyone and everyone or are they a little bit more selective in that regard?

Sophie: Or have they been on other TV shows?

Molly: That’s a huge red flag. Huge red flag.

On Molly’s bedroom scene with Vernon:

Molly: The audio was mainly him to be honest, and I was happy to shut that door because I knew that potentially I could get a little bit more out of him, in terms of him exposing himself rather than exposing myself. So I was happy to kind of take that risk, even if it kind of changes my image or public perception.

Sophie: You can take whatever you want from that video, there’s no vision so people can think what they want.

Molly: But it worked out in my favour. He came out and he said he was an FBoy, which I don’t know if it made me trust him more, or just confused me.

On Nick and Vernon’s rivalry over Molly

Molly: It just gets worse from here out. It was a pretty tight competition and really difficult to be essentially seeing two people in front of each other. I felt really guilty because I didn’t go on the show to hurt anybody’s feelings or make them feel like the second choice. But I was genuinely very conflicted and very confused.

Sophie: I loved seeing Nick’s face, that sounds really bad, but it shows how strong his feelings were for Molly. So when he was so angry, you could see how much he really likes this girl, and how much he was willing to fight for her.

On if we’ve seen the spiciest footage:

Ziara: No way. It only gets spicier actually.

Sophie: We get 24 hour dates….

Molly: There definitely was stuff that happened but how much is going to air I don’t know. It’s only an M-rating though, isn’t it? It only ramps up from here. It was spicy and exciting this week, but Jesus Christ it then takes off.

On the chicken nugget saga:

Sophie: That was my favourite part of the whole show I think.

Molly: Dare I say, that was not a happy meal.

Ziara: I thought it was really out of character for Darcy to act like that, because I’d never seen him show a jealous side, he was always like nothing but such a gentleman to me. I was surprised that he could just crack that easily. I would have appreciated his chicken nugget gesture, no matter what, and even if everyone came in and pinched them, I would have still thought that it was really sweet. But I couldn’t believe he had a tantrum.

On what viewers can expect next week on FBoy Island:

Molly: There’s definitely a few twists and turns. Essentially we’re just very confused and we’re like, do we go with the fun, exciting and invigorating FBoy, or do we go with the safe bet in the form of a secure nice guy. What am I supposed to do here?

Sophie: Our feelings get a lot more real and more intense. I think that’s what viewers are going to find really interesting.

On whether the 25K prize is on their mind:

Ziara: I found myself stopping thinking about it. And I was just like, I had trust that if I met the right person, it just would all happen the way it was meant to happen.

Molly: Yeah, I think at the end of the day 25K would be great, but love would be better.
