18 ‘Heartbreak High’ Fashion Moments That Put My Teen Years To Shame
There’s a lot to love about Netflix’s Heartbreak High, from its diverse (and ridiculously attractive) cast, to the series’ razor sharp script and throwback soundtrack. But can we take a moment to talk about the fashion?
The Australian reboot got a lot of things right about high school. They nailed the public school experience, the chaotic energy of house parties, and of course, the eshays that typically stalk the school halls.
However, there’s one thing I cannot relate to: I never dressed that cool. Like, I wore Face Off pants every day from Year 8 to Year 10, assaulted my face with orange-hued bronzer, and accessorised with a glittery, blue flower in a messy bun.
The style on this show is next level: the hair, the makeup looks, and the eclectic ’90s and Y2K fashion gives the Australian series a real Euphoria aesthetic. The fashion is simply stunning. We must bow down to the style department.
To celebrate the series’ style, we’ve rounded up some of the Netflix show’s best looks.
Here are 18 fashion moments from Heartbreak High that put my teen years to shame:
1. Amerie is a style icon. This flannel-denim coordinate is giving ’90s grunge and I want to buy this jacket in five colours.
2. Clueless, eat your heart out.
3. Amerie’s commitment to wearing a coordinated look to high school should be commended.
4. I’m simply obsessed with everything she wears.
5. The other fashion standout is Quinni, whose whimsical and quirky sartorial choices brightened up the whole show.
And the face stickers? Flawless, no notes.
6. Quinni and patchwork are a match made in heaven. And the bubble hair ties? I can’t!
I actually used to wear this hairstyle in school, but sadly, I never looked this chic.
7. Don’t even get me started on this Quinni outfit — incredible!
I know this was during an emotional scene when Ca$h, but I couldn’t help but notice Quinni was stealing the scene with this green/blue vision.
8. I know Quinni’s GF Sasha is the worst BUT her outfits were straight fire.
9. I simply need this cottagecore top in my life.
10. Dusty’s commitment to a loose open shirt in every scene and situation is something I choose to applaud.
He wears it well!!!
11. Oh, he did wear a sheer lace top for Mardi Gras and I wasn’t mad about it.
12. Harper might be a contentious character, but she was serving monochromatic realness in this outfit.
13. Between Quinni’s tartan kilt look and Darren’s Kylie Minogue t-shirt, this is a friendship group I want to be in… just to borrow their wardrobes.
14. Speaking of Darren, their outfit for the Mardi Gras ball was stunning. Tens across the board!
15. I’d sell my kidney for this crocheted shirt.
16. Missy might have been a bit of a side character, but her fashion stole the show. Hot pink romper? Yes please!
17. And we are forever indebted to Missy for repping for Indigenous Australians with her choice of accessories.
Give Missy an actual storyline in Season 2 challenge!
18. They can’t all be winners, but we still stan Ca$h’s bold Mardi Gras look — and a G-banger eyepatch is about as bold as one can get.
