Why Jackie O Is Still Paying To Store Her Frozen Embryos With Her Ex-Husband
When going through a divorce, you’ve got to split up everything – who gets the couch, who looks after the dog, where are the kids going to live, who nabs the Christmas shift? There’s a lot to decide and one of the things that I hadn’t thought about with the ol’ divorce is what happens when you have literal embryos on ice.
That’s a conundrum that Jackie O is currently facing.
Jackie and her then-husband, Lee Henderson, went through IVF treatment in order to have their daughter, Kitty, who they welcomed in late 2010. The couple then separated in 2018 and since then Jackie has been living her single life, while amicably co-parenting with her ex.

This week on her radio show, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, she admitted that she’s still “paying rent” on the embryos she has in the freezer. Yes, embryos which are made through IVF with a mix of her eggs and her ex-husband’s sperm.
The 48-year-old insists that she’s not planning on having any more children – neither with her ex-husband nor by herself – but she’s still hesitant to let the embryos go.
‘It just feels so final to go destroy them,’ she told her co-host, Kyle Sandilands.

It’s quite a complicated system if she were to want to use the embryos and fall pregnant again, as she’d have to obtain legal permission from Lee – as they are half his.
But she’s not keen to head down that route anyway, saying that “I think it might be too late,” and that she’s “happy with just having one”.
