KFC Mashies Are Back And My Future Hangovers Just Got Better

Sometimes all you need in life is a good form of comfort food, like billowing, soft, piping hot mash potato encased in a crispy outer layer.

If you’re already wanting that melt-in-your-mouth hot treat for lunch or dinner, then good news: KFC has brought back the iconic Mashies and suddenly my #ShredForEurope23 is all over.

The fan favourite side treat is a bite-sized combination of creamy mashed potatoes, deep-fried to perfection, and they are, of course, covered in KFC’s signature herbs and spices. Name a better comfort treat for this cold-weather hit? It’s not possible.

Mashies have been absent from the KFC menu for over a decade now, so it’s about damn time they made a return into the hearts and mouths of dedicated Aussie fans. The decision to bring back Mashies comes by popular demand from loyal KFC customers who have been patiently biding their time to see them return on the sides menu, alongside other treats like popcorn chicken and, of course, arguably some of the tastiest hot chips on offer.

“We’re always looking to delight KFC fans by introducing tasty new feeds or bringing back fan favourites, which is why for the first time in 12 years, Original Mashies will be available on menus nationwide,” Sally Spriggs, CMO at KFC Australia said.

But just as a warning, you don’t have all the time in the world to indulge. The KFC Original Mashies will be available from Tuesday, May 16 until Monday, June 12 at participating restaurants across Australia.
