Don’t Freak Out But Kylie Minogue Is Heading Back To Ramsay Street
It’s been confirmed that Kylie Minogue will make in appearance in the final episode of Neighbours, alongside old flame Jason Donovan.
Jason Herbison, an executive producer for the show, confirmed the news by way of a statement on Neighbours‘ official Facebook page.
“Scott and Charlene are the ultimate Neighbours couple and it would not feel right to end the show without them,” it reads. “We are thrilled that Jason and Kylie have come home to play a very special part in our series finale. It has been an emotional experience for them, for us and I’m sure it will be for our viewers.”
Kylie also confirmed the news on Instagram yesterday, where she shared the front page of a Neighbours script. “Waking up to this amazing news in #Melbourne!” her caption reads, quite confusingly, given that her scenes were reportedly shot last week. “Might just have to go for a spin out to #Ramsaystreet.”
Kylie Minogue was one of Neighbours‘ earliest cast members, making her debut on the famous soap opera in 1985. She left the show in 1988 after marrying Scott (Jason Donovan), in an ’80s wedding dress that remains imprinted on the national imagination to this day. The rest, as they say, was history.
Earlier this year, the show confirmed that production of the show would be ceasing after nearly 37 years on air, due to the loss of a key broadcasting partner in the UK. “Despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show,” an official statement posted on Neighbours‘ official Twitter account read.
“To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team. We thank you for all your messages and support and promise to end the show on an incredible high. From here on, we are celebrating Neighbours.”
The show’s final episodes will air in June 2022.
