Bachy’s Locky & Irena Announce Their Engagement
Bachy fans have recently been hit with the sad news that The Bachelorette will not go ahead in 2022, but thankfully, we do have something to look forward to: The Bachelor’s Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska are set to tie the knot!
The pair met on Season 8 of the reality dating show, with Locky choosing Irena over runner-up Bella Varelis, despite dropping the L-bomb on both contestants during the final episode.
Locky and Irena’s love story has blossomed since the show ended, with the couple purchasing their first home together to Locky’s hometown of Perth. And now Locky and Irena have announced they’ve gotten engaged through a joint Instagram post.

The outdoorsy pic was captioned “Mrs Gilbert has a nice ring to it,” and it sure does! The news doesn’t come as a huge surprise, as the former Bachelor has hinted at a potential wedding on the horizon, telling New Idea in March this year that he and Irena “talk about what kind of wedding we want all the time and are both keen to start a family. We aren’t spring chickens, so it’ll happen sooner rather than later,” Locky said.
The news also dismisses previous rumours of cracks in their relationship, after the Daily Mail reported that Irena briefly unfollowed Locky in April.
Both posts have been flooded with love and support by fellow friends, family members, and Bachelor stars.
There hasn’t been any further word on a set date, location or invitation list BUT nonetheless, we are so excited to see how this Bachy couple will celebrate their wedding!
Locky and Irena will follow in the footsteps of other The Bachelor/Bachelorette success stories Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski, and Georgia Love and Lee Elliott, along with Matthew Johnson and Laura Byrne who are engaged but yet to officially tie the knot.
