Love Island Australia is coming back very soon. It’s hotter, and probably hornier, so we’re super keen for this love-fest to begin!

Australian icon and host of Love Island, Sophie Monk, broke the news via a sultry Spanish salsa-dancing teaser, which fits the theme as Love Island will indeed be back in Spain, where the series filmed its earlier season and the original UK version.

Watch the teaser for Love Island (and prepare for more goss below):

Along with the teaser, some tea about Season 4 has dropped, with a few little changes being made behind-the-scenes.

One of the major changes is that the show will be back in Spain. For the past couple of years, Love Island was shot in Fiji and Byron Bay which means the last time we saw the OG villa was back in 2018.

Another major change is that this season will be pre-recorded. Love Island is one of the few reality TV dating shows that is produced live, but not this season.

This means that public voting  — aka basically Love Island’s entire format — will become a thing of the past.

But one of the major twists is that the show apparently will have three alternative endings — but only one will be aired. A Love Island insider told Yahoo! that the cast will find out the winner alongside the rest of Australia. “The contestants won’t find out if they’ve won or not until they actually sit down to watch the finale with the rest of Australia, and see if their winning scene is played,” the insider claimed.

Other shows have followed this system — like RuPaul’s Drag Race and The Voice — in an attempt to avoid spoilers being leaked about the finale. And tbh, I don’t blame them!

It’s worth mentioning that the Love Island finale is typically aired live, but we assume since this new version is pre-recorded that extra precautions have been put in place.

Another spicy slosh of tea is that Married At First Sight’s golden child, Al Perkins, is reportedly joining the cast! Rumours first began to swirl of his appearance after pics snapped by the Daily Mail  showed a familiar smile in the Spanish villa. Fans also noted that he has been quiet for a prolonged period of time on social media while Love Island was filming.

Although it’s not fully confirmed if he’s on the reality show, Sophie said during the recent Nine Upfronts that a “famous groom” is among the contestants. “We have high-flying real estate agents, we have a soccer player, we have a model, a dancer and we have a famous groom,” she teased at the event.

Season 4 of Love Island is set to drop this October, but there hasn’t been any word on specific dates or who the contestants are. I guess it’s just a waiting game for now.

Love Island is coming this October to Channel 9 and 9Now.
