‘Ex-Week’ On ‘Love Island’ Is Finally Over But Some Fans Are Conflicted

Ex-Week on Love Island has finally concluded with the return of past winners, Tina Provis and Mitch Hibberd, and the reception to this twist has been mixed. 

We all hate being haunted by the presence of our ex, but it lowkey makes for great TV. In a major plot twist for Love Island, the reality television Gods have given us ‘Ex-Week’, where we saw the return of three exes, including the winners of last year’s season, Tina and Mitch. 

To give you a quick TL;DR, Tina and Mitch won the show last year, but their relationship did not last long outside of the villa. After the breakup, rumours then began circulating that Mitch had hooked up with fellow cast mate, Emily Ward. 

Earlier in the year, Tina got candid about the hookup scandal on the It’s A lot podcast with Abbie Chatfield. 

“I didn’t exactly get the truth from the horse’s mouth straight away,” Tina said. “I was like, ‘is there something you want to tell me?’ And he was like, ‘No?’… And I was like, ‘Okay, you’re lying now. Just say it.’ And then I got it out.”

Tina also mentioned the details of the breakup when she returned to the Villa, spilling the tea in the beach hut. 

Although their return brought back some drama, a lot of fans have been unimpressed with their presence. 

Despite the fans being unhappy with the return of ex-contestants, they are pleased with how Tina handled Mitch.

I guess we’ll have to see in the coming weeks if the winners will rekindle their relationship or if Tina has truly left the Mitch building. 

Also, can we talk about how Jason, Claudia’s ex, left the villa that quick? He literally started a yelling match over nothing! 

ICYMI, Jason, who’d dated Claudia for a year prior to her appearance on Love Island, joined the villa at the start of Ex-Week. His presence started an argument between Claudia and Callum, who was investigating Claudia and Jason’s history before Love Island. The fight was super intense.

However, about two episodes later, Jason announced that he would be leaving the villa. 

“I came for a specific reason. I had to act on what your mum told me, Claudia. I’m glad I did. Come to find out, I don’t want to be with you, you don’t want to be with me. On that note, I wish you all the best of luck. If I were to stay in the villa, I would have to be fake,“ Jason said in a toast that truly shocked the other contestants. 

I mean look at Austen’s face!
