They came, they got back together, and then they left. Love Island winners Mitch Hibberd and Tina Provis returned to this year’s season and ended up just coupling up with each other again, as history repeated itself.

Mitch and Tina first met on the 2021 series and were coupled up for most of the season before winning the show. They dated for four months and called it quits in February this year.

Tina and Mitch reentered the villa this year and while they briefly coupled up with other islanders, they soon rekindled their relationship and seemingly got back together.

The couple were booted from the villa on Wednesday night’s episode.

But did they stay together? As this year’s Love Island was pre-recorded, a bit of time has passed since Tina and Mitch left the villa, and Tina has since revealed their current relationship status.

“From the time that we left the villa, Mitch and I have continued to see how things are going and he’s come to Sydney and I’ve gone to Melbourne,” Tina told New Idea.

“We’re not seeing each other anymore. I think Mitch and I have always been in each other’s lives and still remained friends. There’s no bad blood between us or anything at all. So I think in that sense, you know, never say never but for this time, I think the chapter’s definitely closed.”

Too bad, so sad!

Tina went on to reflect on her second Love Island stint and ultimately, she has no regrets. “I would honestly not change a single thing. I’m always someone that likes to stick to my guns and even this time around, there’s nothing that would change,” she said.

“I think I did try to find a connection, I tried to try something new, but I couldn’t help but feel drawn to Mitch and I think we do really care about each other.”

The remaining Love Island couples heading into next week’s finale are: Claudia and Austen, Phoebe and Mitch, Jessica and Al, and Madeline and Callum.

The Love Island finale kicks off Tuesday at 8:30pm on 9Now.
