Just when I think that Love Island UK has peaked, it just keeps getting better.

Last week’s drama surrounded the breakup of Faye and Teddy, but guess what? They’re back together and now all we care about is Liberty dumping Jake’s manipulative ass. Love Island moves fast, keep up! In a savage challenge, Liberty and Jake found out that the public voted them as the most one-sided couple and most likely to split after the show.

The vote left Liberty shaken, saying at the time, “Savage! Never in a million years did I expect me and Jake to be up there with the one-sided thing. I’m actually really confused, just mind blown.” Afterwards, the women in the villa discussed whether the public vote suggested that Jake was not being genuine with his feelings for Liberty.

Liberty was already getting suss on Jake after a bizarre moment where he stopped her from congratulating her villa bestie, Kaz, for becoming exclusive with Tyler. Instead, Jake told Liberty to wait so that she and Kaz could share their own special moment alone, almost like he was working out how to seize the most camera time and get the best angle. Liberty said the whole thing gave her “the ick” and made her question whether Jake was genuine with actions, or just trying to make good TV.

These red flags combined with Jake previously saying he wasn’t overly attracted to Liberty when they first entered the villa, led to Liberty finally airing all her issues out to Jake in a private chat. She told him about her concerns, most notably that he has never told her that he loves her — despite Liberty dropping those three special words weeks ago.

In classic Jake fashion, in response he just muttered “You’re my girlfriend!” over and over, like that was some kind of magic spell to silence all of Liberty’s qualms. Then lo and behold, what came out of Jake’s mouth?

One minute Jake is saying he doesn’t want to “throw out” the words “I love you”, the next he is literally throwing out the words “I love you”. Fans are convinced that Jake only told Liberty what she wanted to hear in a desperate attempt to still win $50k prevent her dumping him.
