Everything We Already Know About The Man Bun Groom From ‘MAFS’ 2024
The Married at First Sight leaks keep coming, and some interesting new tea about the miserable groom with the man bun has surfaced on social media.
Why has he been labelled as miserable already? Well, the reality TV contestant, Jacob Dunkley, was spotted tying the knot in late July. Not only did he look like he was attending a funeral, but now he’s now been accused of breaking up with his ex-girlfriend before heading onto MAFS.

The Wash shared a snap of Jacob with his ex, Courtney Jade, along with her side of the story. She told the gossip social media account that she flew to Melbourne to be with Jacob (known as Jack to his friends) and he said that he loved her.
“I was dating him this year and he broke up with me a week after I flew to Melbourne, met all his family and he said he loves me. He told me he was moving to America for ‘work opportunities’. I only found out yesterday from a friend that he is in fact in Sydney, and on Married at First Sight,” Courtney said.
Yikes.

What have Jack’s friends said about the MAFS situation?
Jack isn’t able to shed any light on his dating history, because he’s now under contract with Endemol and Channel 9 while he films for MAFS. Unless he slips a lil rogue comment to a reporter, we might not hear his side of the story until next year.
However, a few of his close friends have jumped in to defend him on social media.
“I can’t believe how judgemental people are being based on someone’s photo and a tiny snippet of information,” Jack’s friend Lizzie Shobolov commented. “Jack is one of my absolute favourite people and so much more than just a man bun and tattoos. He’s a down-to-earth, kindhearted sweetheart with good values who genuinely wants to find a wife.”
Another friend, and possible ex, Jo Van Kempen, also weighed in on the messy situ.
“I have known Jack for over 15 years, and I knew their situation. I have met Courtney a couple of times, the girl who sent this message. It was a very brief, yet respectfully casual relationship, and he tried to end it a couple times with her,” she claimed. “Jack is trying to find love, he wants to find a nice, sweet girl.”

Was Jack in a serious relationship with another woman before going on MAFS?
Of course, Courtney shared more about her situation with Jack, and tbh, we can’t figure out which side of the story has more truth. According to Courtney, the couple had been planning a future together, and was “becoming quite serious”.
“I am not proud of our decisions following our breakup and I know myself I have been crazy and will own that,” Courtney wrote. “My mental health has suffered due to being completely blindsided and losing my best friend to a reality TV show.”
“I don’t believe he is on the show for the right reasons at all. I am just telling my side of the story as what has happened here has been horrible.”
Eek. If it’s getting messy THIS early on, you can bet that the actual season of MAFS is gonna be verrry juicy indeed.
