Duncan And Evelyn Reveal They’ve Been Dating Since Before ‘MAFS’ Finale Aired

Married at First Sight stars Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis managed to singlehandedly (doublehandedly?) blow up the internet yesterday when they finally confirmed they were officially dating.

Understandably, MAFS fans started spiralling upon hearing the news. When did they start dating? Are they in love? When will they make some beautiful babies? These were just a few of the questions that sprung to mind.

Well, luckily for you, we have the answer to two of the three of those questions, and the timeline of their relationship is spicy, to say the least. During an interview on Fitzy And Wippa With Kate Ritchie this morning, Duncan let the cat out of the bag that he and Evelyn were together way back in March when NOVA held a MAFS dinner party.

ICYMI (or just forgot because post-MAFS drama is a lot), the radio station held a little reunion shindig for some of the participants in late March, which Duncan and Evelyn attended. Note: that was before the final vows had even aired.

Reflecting on the event, radio host Fitzy asked the pair if they were secretly together at the time. Without hesitation, Duncan confirmed that they were, while Evelyn side-stepped the question by jokingly asking if she could “plead the fifth”.

When Fitzy pushed the reality stars for more details and asked if they were “actually hooking up”, Duncan smugly replied that they were “hanging out” before bursting into laughter.

Desperate to get an actual timeline nailed down, co-host Kate did the lord’s work and asked when *exactly* they got together.

“Mardi Gras is a pretty big event in Sydney, and we were having a bit of a dance together. Nothing even happened that night, but that was the first night that we’d spent a little bit of time together as friends and realised that maybe there was something more there,” Duncan explained.

“And then over the next couple of weeks, we hung out and then there was, there was a kiss after that at some point.”

Considering the Mardi Gras parade was on February 25th, that brings us to mid-March as the approximate date that Evelyn and Duncan shared their first smooch. Meaning that they should be celebrating their two-month anniversary *checks notes* any day now.

As for whether they’ve said the L word to one another yet, Evelyn confirmed it hadn’t happened “yet” but Duncan sounded very positive about their future prospects.

“If I didn’t see a long-term future with her, I wouldn’t get into a relationship with her,” he said.
