The impact of the collective victim-blaming of Dom Calarco on Wednesday night’s Married at First Sight continues to be felt deeply by the viewers.

At the dinner party, we learnt that Olivia had found a nude photo from Dom’s OnlyFans account on the weekend and by the time Wednesday rolled around, almost every contestant had seen it — except Ella and Mitch. Dom and Jack were told about this at dinner and what Dom then faced was a despicable display of slut-shaming and victim-blaming.

No one apologised to Dom, Olivia stated repeatedly that the photos were public, and Tamara went as far to put the blame back into Dom’s hands for starting an OnlyFans in the first place.

It was simply horrific.

Never one to stay silent when women are being unjustly vilified, Abbie Chatfield has addressed the drama on her latest episode of Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, where she took Olivia to task over her claims that by circulating the photo she did not intend to shame Dom. “Olivia is saying, ‘There’s no shame in it,’” she began. “How come you didn’t send a photo of Domenica, I don’t know, working at a juice bar? Did you find her LinkedIn and go, ‘Oh look, she was a personal assistant.’ No, because you don’t see shame in that.”

She continued, “You see shame in OnlyFans, and you see shame in naked bodies, and you are choosing this very manipulative and very disgusting way to try and subtly shame her because you think — and unfortunately, you were right — the whole group would turn against her after seeing this.”

Abbie then addressed the entire group’s behaviour on the last dinner party. “Unfortunately, the pathetic, spineless people at this table all don’t like Domenica and want her to be a villain.”

The I’m A Celebrity winner went on to speak directly about the women in the room who victim-blamed Dom and shirked any accountability for circulating the image. “All of these women think they’re being feminists, and think that saying, ‘We’re not shaming you!’ absolves them because they know that their internalised misogynistic ridiculousness is in fact anti-feminist, and they are shaming her.”

Before the show kicked off, Abbie uploaded a series of Instagram Stories directed at some of the worst offenders from Wednesday’s dinner party.

During the show, Abbie also addressed Cody who was the person that announced to the dinner table that the bulk of the group have seen Dom nude, before quizzing Jack on whether he knew about her OnlyFans account. “Why is this random man asking if her husband knew she had an OnlyFans account? Your husband is not your keeper,” Abbie said.

“Never ask, ‘Does your husband know about this?’ Why does he need to know? Who cares!”

In an interview on Kyle and Jackie O on Thursday morning, Olivia labelled her actions as “just a stupid mistake,” adding that after watching the episode she felt “like an absolute dickhead”.

However, the MAFS bride still maintained that digging up the nude image wasn’t fuelled by malicious intent… which is truly baffling.
