It’s Official: Al From ‘Married At First Sight’ Is The Most Loved Groom Ever

Al Perkins is operating on a different frequency to the rest of the contestants — or any contestant ever — on Married at First Sight.

From his penchant for shoeys to his mispronunciation of common words, Al is one of the series’ most unique grooms who is also quickly becoming the show’s most popular.

Whether it’s his wholesome albeit naive approach to women, his hilarious himbo moments, or his on-and-off relationship with TV wife Samantha Moitzi, MAFS fans simply can’t get enough Al in their lives.

Al’s unwavering positivity this season has provided a welcome distraction, especially for a show that features more than its fair share of conflict and disturbing moments. Between Selin and Anthony’s never-ending feuding to intruder couple Jessica and Daniel’s constant bickering, sometimes the viewer just needs a refreshing palate cleanser to get through the episode — and that’s Al!

And this groom can be depended on for always giving relatable reactions to the trashfire that is this show.

But the appeal of Al isn’t just because he brings good vibes and provides funny memes, the 25-year-old has proven he also has a kind heart. During the dinner party where Holly arrived alone to be greeted by a room full of people who had clearly sided with Andrew, she spent the night feeling alienated from the group and Al was one of the only people to make an effort to comfort Holly.

When he spotted Holly sitting alone, Al pulled her away from the table to have a chat and lift her spirits.

FYI men of MAFSthis is what a “gentleman” looks like, not some guy carrying our bag or opening our door.

WE DON’T DESERVE HIM.

Al has further delighted viewers in his reaction to meeting intruder Daniel. Upon seeing Daniel, he quickly told him “I love your teeth! You look good. You look good,” before Brent had to remind Al to introduce himself.

Al appreciates a handsome man, as he should!

What makes Al such an unlikely favourite is that when he was first introduced on MAFS, he appeared to be a low-key fuckboi. He was obsessed with his appearance, and still dependent on his mum who cooked, cleaned, and still did his laundry.

Al is a testament to not judging a book by its cover, or well their introduction package on a reality show.

Al said in his first episode that he was “just a kid from Bondi that everybody loves,” and you know what? After weeks of watching this sweet and kind person’s journey unfold, we believe him.
