After a few drama-free nights of reprieve, Married at First Sight is back and oh boy, the contestants are dropping like flies.

Tonight we saw the departure of not one, but THREE couples from the experiment. This is especially grim as we’re only up to the second commitment ceremony. The first couple to call it quits were Russell and Beth, but no huge surprises there as they never got out of the friendzone, so there wasn’t much point of them staying on the show. In the words of Russell’s doppelgänger Daniel Andrews, it was “what must be done”.

Coco and Cameron’s connection was exposed, and they both elected to leave the experiment, as did their partners Sam and Samantha. It’s unclear whether Coco and Cameron will be back, but there’s obviously chemistry there, which we all saw in their makeout session before the commitment ceremony. While on the experts’ couch, Coco maintained that nothing had happened between herself and Cameron, this steamy scene will no doubt come back to bite both of them at the reunion.

In one of the most awkward moments in MAFS history, tonight James made a “joke” about being in love with sexologist Alessandra. He confessed this to Joanne, before going up to Alessandra and kissing her on the cheek, in a move that was simultaneously creepy and pathetic. Alessandra was not impressed and it’s clear the whole “joke” was just to get back at Joanne for writing ‘Stay (For Now)’ last week, which was evident in him childishly voting ‘Leave (Now)’ this week. Honestly, this guy is the worst and needs to grow TF up.

And speaking of manbabies… Bryce got absolutely dragged by John for his treatment of Melissa at the dinner party and we loved to see it!

Tonight’s hectic Married at First Sight commitment ceremony retold in hilarious tweets:

Everyone is reeling from the dinner party the previous night, with both Bryce and Sam still angry over their bitter feud. Meanwhile, Samantha is devastated that she was the last to know about Coco and Cameron.

Cameron visits Coco in her room, where he apologises for not supporting her at the dinner party. They seal their affair with a kiss, as Cameron leans in to pash Coco. My eyes!

It’s commitment ceremony time! Booka and Brett are the first couple on the couch, followed by Melissa and Bryce. John slams Bryce for his feisty behaviour at the dinner party and how he didn’t consider how it would affect Melissa. Bryce doesn’t take it well.

In a painfully awkward moment, James made a joke that he was in love with expert, Alessandra. She was not impressed, and neither was his wife, Joanne. Despite this, Joanne voted to stay, while James voted to leave.

Belinda and Patrick are next on the couch, they both admit to seeing a future with each other and each vote to stay. On the flip-side, Beth and Russell agree they are better off as friends and both vote to leave the experiment.

Coco and Sam sit down on the couch, as the experts quiz Coco over what has happened between herself and Cameron. Samantha admits she feels hurt and that she thinks Cameron has wasted her time.

Coco denies ever getting physical with Cameron, despite an earlier scene showing them pashing. Sam and Coco both vote to leave the experiment.

Finally, Samantha and Cameron hash out what went wrong in their marriage, before both choosing to leave the experiment.
