Everyone bow down, because we have a new Queen. Queen Evelyn now owns the nation’s hearts after her perfectly calm but savage takedown of Dastardly Dan during last night’s Married at First Sight dinner party.

After the now infamous butt dial incident — where Evelyn’s husband Rupert allegedly butt-dialled her just as Dan and Hugo were talking smack about their wives — the mood going into the dinner party was tense, with Sandy having moved out of her apartment with Dan, and Dan being all chill and telling producers everything was a ‘storm in a teacup’.

Little did Dan know, his smooth-talking ways weren’t going to work on Evelyn. Just like Melinda, Evelyn’s read on trash men is 100% spot on, and she did not back down from Dan’s cunning ways throughout the course of the whole dinner party.

Before we get into all the chaos, drama, and the men sadly, once again, not holding each other accountable, a quick recap on some other things: Jesse and Claire appear back on track as they entered the dinner party together, Duncan and Alyssa appear to have moved past their Adam drama, and Harrison dropped that he and Bronte were having hot sex. Ew! But OK!

Anyway, back to Dastardly Dan being taken down. Let’s just get straight into it.

Here’s what happened in tonight’s explosive Married at First Sight dinner party – the Evelyn Vs. Dan edition.

Evelyn’s ready to come into the dinner party swinging and calling out Hugo and Dan on their behaviour. Evelyn debriefs with the girls to fill them in on what Dan and Hugo said about their wives.

Evelyn unveiled Hugo’s words about Tayla (aka calling her a c-u-next-Tuesday) in front of the whole group, leaving Tayla shocked and Hugo completely flustered.

Dan enters and gets a frosty reception from the women but goes over to greet Sandy. Dan then tries to get on the front foot at the dinner party by addressing Evelyn about what’s going on, saying he hates “drama”. Then don’t BE the drama, my good sir!

Evelyn doesn’t back down from Dan’s speech, and holds him accountable for his actions. Dan starts rabbiting on about having a type that is active and into fitness, and that he didn’t say anything with ill intent, and Evelyn tells him to cut the shit and be honest about what he really said.

Dan tries to deflect by asking what time the butt dial occurred and says he “wasn’t even there” before adding he was walking with Duncan. Duncan then says that both Dan and Hugo could’ve said things in much better ways, while the rest of the men stay silent even though Ollie and Duncan both admit in their confessionals that what Dan did was wrong.

Dan then tells Evelyn that the butt dial was fabricated and that she’s made everything up. Look, regardless what you think about the butt dial, I think we can all agree Dan said those things.

Dan tells Sandy that he wasn’t showing photos of his exes in “comparison” to her. Sure, Jan.

Claire goes in on Dan for not owning his shit and belittling Sandy, and Harrison jumps in to defend Dan. “It’s OK to have preferences,” he says. No one asked, hon!

Hugo steps in to apologise for his behaviour and says while he said it drunkenly, he knows it’s not an excuse and he needs to make things up to Tayla. Tayla berates him for not telling the truth, but tbh, MAFS fans… kinda don’t care what Hugo said about Tayla.

Melinda pulls Sandy away for a chat and tells her not to put up with Dan’s shit. Mel rightly predicts Dan will come over and interrupt their convo because he won’t want them talking, and that’s exactly what he does. “I hear you, I see you, I feel you,” Dan says in a bizarre apology speech to Sandy.

Dan then drops to the dinner party table that he and Sandy had sex, for some reason?! Dan then keeps going on about how he needed to detach and Sandy calls him out on how he’s been unwilling to compromise and wants a “cookie cutter wife”.

Finally, Evelyn and Dan sit down to hash it out privately, and Evelyn did NOT back down. Take him down, Queen!
